Unlike my oil paintings which are painted in studios from source material, all my watercolours are done in front of their subjects, perched on a folding seat that I carry around over some paper on my lap. Probably not great for my back but it’s lovely to watch the world go by as I paint. The exception to that are the first three, painted in my living room during lockdown. These also feature in a site called Putney Lockdown Art which fellow students at Putney School Of Art created to share our work and keep us sane.
